Liam Trawick is a Greensboro-area saxophonist, composer, teacher, and bandleader. Liam loves to make people dance, laugh, and feel good about living. His primary instrument is tenor saxophone, and he doubles on other saxophones, clarinet, and flute. Liam has played saxophone and a variety of other wind instruments since he began middle school band at age 11.

Liam enjoys playing various wind instruments, writing original music and arrangements, and leading his own bands. He takes part in many groups, such as jazz group Real Life Quartet, jazz quintet Modern Jazztet, jazz-fusion band Lyrebird, as well as leading his own Liam Trawick Trio. In addition to playing and writing music, Liam also enjoys teaching. In his free time, Liam enjoys photography, cycling, foreign languages, coffee, attending jam sessions, and taking part in Greensboro’s underground music scene.

Liam Trawick plays gigs across all of North Carolina including restaurants, bars, jazz clubs, private events, and weddings. Past gigs include performances at the Charlotte Jazz Festival, Duck Jazz Festival, Durham’s Sharp Nine Gallery, and the Irregardless Café in Raleigh. Liam teaches private lessons at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, and has experience leading small jazz groups, big band, and marching band. Liam plans to continue leading his own groups, writing his own music, teaching, and performing.
